There's also an enrolment morning on September 3rd when the new group will meet for the first time, complete all the paperwork and eat special reflexology biscuits. Note - this date is for students who have already had their initial course application accepted and paid a deposit. Numbers are strictly limited so it's important to make contact asap.

Plans for next years Level 3 Diploma Course are now well under way. Dates are confirmed for the first half of the course up until the end of April 2012 - we may need to make some minor changes after that but hopefully we'll be able to finalise with the University shortly.
There are still a few places left on the Taster Day on August 14th and the Diploma Course is filling up rapidly.
Current students have been gaining valuable experience from our clinic sessions where outside clients are invited in for treatments. Quite a few prospective students have taken the opportunity to come in for a treatment to get an idea of what they might be taking on next year. The message is always the same - it's hard work but hugely interesting and rewarding. There are no short cuts to becoming a successful reflexologist!
Prospective students often ask what they should be looking for in a good reflexology course. First of all you need to check that the qualification is well recognised and will give you membership of professional associations and onto the CNHC register of practitioners. It's really important to ask about your tutor's experience in running the diploma course and if possible ask to speak to past students - or go into class for a treatment. Short courses are a definite no-no. It takes time and effort to develop as a therapist and you shouldn't even consider a short-cut. You get what you pay for.

Well Christmas passed in a flurry of frozen pipes, snow up to the dogs' arm-pits and laying carpet over the skating rink on the front drive. The low point was when the bath started emptying through the kitchen ceiling onto the mince pies. Oh, and then there was having to put wellies on before going in the bathroom...
Enough of 2010 and all that! Now here we are caught up in a flurry of activity planning this years courses. Reflexology qualifications have under-gone some changes recently and for October 2011 we're planning to offer the new 7 module ABC Level 3 Diploma which is recognised by all the major professional associations and registers of therapists. There are more details on my newly re-vamped website which has gone live today. Lots of great new design ideas from web supremo, Oz - he's shamed me into doing my bit and up-dating my blog!
We have a reflexology taster day planned on August 14th for prospective students or anyone just wanting to dip a gentle toe in the water - email for details. Enrolment morning will be Saturday September 3rd and the course will run on 14 Sundays starting in mid October. I'll shortly be putting the dates on the calendar when finalised. The venue will again be the lovely Oxstalls Campus - 3 miles from Junction 11 of the M5.
Many congratulations to last years students who all did brilliantly in their exams, as expected. They're all fully qualified now, no doubt with their diplomas hanging proudly over the fireplace.
Since the school started in 2008 we have a 100% pass rate in the exam!
Current students are working hard on their practical skills and will soon be ready to work on outside clients. We'll be starting clinic sessions in April and inviting anyone who'd like to experience a treatment, free of charge, to come along and join us. Again, email for details.
On a personal note I've got another house-move in the offing at the end of February - so there'll be new contact details on the website. Back to packing then.
All good wishes for 2011.
