The flurry of enrolment activity has finally come to an end and we've already completed the first two sessions of the October 2010 Relexology Diploma course. Gloucester University's Oxstalls Campus has proved to be a great venue with the best possible facilities (more treatment couches than you could shake a stick at and masses of squashy sofas for relaxing during break times.) So at the moment my courses will be mainly based there. The added bonus is the excellent motorway access and students are finding travelling pretty stress-free, even those who are travelling quite long distances. It's always exciting to get a new group up and running - lots of learning but lots of laughter as well!

My 2009 group have just completed their course and taken their final exam. They've been an amazingly hard working and well-organised group and a pleasure to teach. It's always sad to get to the end and say goodbye - but I'm sure we'll all stay in touch and I'll look forward to hearing about their new careers as therapists.

My wizard web designer, Oz, has big plans for my new up-dated site and is nagging me to do my bit and finalise plans and dates for next year. I'm already getting enquiries for my 2011 courses so will have to look carefully at enrolment procedures. I know Oz has ideas...

I'm going to try very hard to do another post before Christmas!!!

It's that time of year again! Lots of enquiries are coming in about my courses. Great! It's good to talk to potential students, I'm always more than happy to answer questions and give guidance. People are generally a bit bewildered about the range of courses out there and what they should be looking for so I thought I'd blog a few bits of advice.

First of all you need to be sure that your course is a Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology. There are various different awarding bodies offering this diploma and on paper the syllabus looks similar. So how to choose? I'd say the key questions to ask are:
Who is the tutor?
What are his/her teaching and therapy qualifications?
How long has she/he been teaching this course?
How many students in the group?
How is the course assessed?
Is there on-going support after completion?

Many students who've already completed a diploma course come to me for additional training as they don't feel confident to start their own practice.
My background is a bit unusual as I'm a teacher-turned-therapist. I've been teaching since 1971 and started teaching complementary therapies, including reflexology back in 1994. So you could say I've been at it for a while!!!

So what should you do if you think you might like to enrol with me?
1. Have a good look at my website and other schools' sites.
2. Email or phone me with any queries or just to register an interest.
3. Have a good think.
4. If you decide to go ahead download an enrolment form and return it to me. (Or I can post you one.)

Final date for enrolment - Tuesday August 31st 2010. (If places still remaining.)

Super special offer to help you decide - I'm offering a limited number of my training DVDs absolutely free so you can see the techniques you'll be learning and get an idea of my teaching style! Just email your address.

Well this is exciting! My web site has under-gone some serious up-dating courtesy of Chief Web-Whizzo Oz. He's published my new prospectus for 2010/2011 on the site and all that's left for me to do is put all the new dates on the site calendar - if I can remember how to do it!

If you have a browse you'll see that we have top class new venues lined up for September. Courses at Worcester University will run on Saturdays, roughly every three weeks through the year. Sunday courses will be held at Gloucester University, again roughly every three weeks. There are huge advantages here. Both Worcester and Gloucester have excellent motorway access - no more scary country roads in the snow!

Both universities have impressive facilities. Large airy rooms with comfortable seating and state of the art teaching equipment and plenty of parking. We've always offered students the best possible learning experience - and now more of you will be able to join us.

Feel free to get in touch and ask as many questions as you like. I'll be starting enrolment immediately after Easter. You can download an enrolment form and return with a deposit to secure your place and start planning your new career!

An up-date at last! We're teetering on the edge of some big changes here - details will shortly be appearing on my website. But first a quick look back. The reflexology diploma group who took their exam last November all passed with excitingly high marks after loads of hard work. Well done to them!

A new reflexology group started in October. Small but perfectly formed. We struggled with snow drifts and icy roads at the start of the year and had to do a spot of date juggling but we're well back on target now.

The first group of ITEC Indian Head students started their course at the end of January and have now completed two weekends. Some of them are ex reflexology students - it's great to have people coming back for more!

I'm already getting enquiries about September 2010 courses. It's likely that we'll be using two new venues with good motorway access. more details to come shortly - watch this space!
